DESCRIPTION
This competency standard unit covers the performance of rescue procedures from an elevating work platform (EWP) in the workplace. It specifies the mandatory requirements of rescue from a raised EWP by a work party member on the ground and how they apply in the context of transmission, distribution or rail work functions. It encompasses responsibilities for, health, safety and risk management processes at all operative levels and adherence to safety practices as part of the normal way of doing the work.

Initial: 4 Hours
Refresher: 2 Hours

CPR.
COURSE CONTENT
- Tools and equipment needed for a rescue
- Assessing the hazards
- EWP rescue procedure
- Practical demonstration of rescuing a person
- Knowledge of Safe Approach Distances
- Manual lowering and slewing of EWP booms
- Incident reporting
DELIVERY
Delivery can be conducted either on or off-job. Delivery strategies must be suitable for both theoretical and/or practical learning.
CERTIFICATION
On successful completion of this course, the participants will receive a Statement of Attainment and / or Training Report.
