DESCRIPTION
This competency standard unit covers the carrying out of switching operations in a substation accordance to a given instructions, switching schedule and established enterprise procedures. It encompasses the operation of substation switching devices such as circuit breakers, air break switches, fuses, reclosers, ring main units and isolators.

- Prepare for substation switching to a given schedule
- Carry out substation switching to a given schedule
- Complete substation switching to a given schedule
DELIVERY
Delivery can be conducted either on or off-job. Delivery strategies must be suitable for both theoretical and/or practical learning.
CERTIFICATION
On successful completion of this course, the participants will receive a Statement of Attainment.
